| | Here are some photos from two of the gigs I had this week. One was at The Cannery @ Del Monte Square - this was a nice excursion from my solo sets there because I had special guest Carrie Jahde on drums/percussion. We played a variety of tunes including my originals as well as an assortment of jazz standards that I love. It was such a fun performance! Carrie will be joining me for another show at the same venue on February 23rd!
These were from the Acoustic Guitar Showcase organized by Teja Gerken. I was performing alongside Teja and Stevie Coyle, a wonderful fingerpicking/singer-songwriter/lyrical genius! The performance was done round-robin style (think Songwriter's Round but with guitarists/instrumentalists instead). That really added a aura of excitement as our set developed around the song that preceded. Teja was amazing with his many celtic pieces as well as his developed compositions. As for Stevie, I was particularly moved by his awesome control of dynamics and blend of rhythmic ideas and colors. His lyrics were really cool too! Thank you so much to everyone who came and to all the lovely people at Bazaar Cafe. =) A special thanks to Teja too for having me there at the show.
 
Am looking forward to the John Stowell/Brian Pardo workshop that I'll be attending at the Jazz School in Berkeley tomorrow! I'm also trying to get some private lessons with John this time around. Should be uber-cool!
The next performance I'll have will be this Sunday, 11am-1pm for Sunday Brunch at Nomad Cafe. Will be performing with Shelley so it will be a mix of my material and her wonderful songs!
